Artist Statement

Like people, individual landscapes have distinctive personalities.  Continually interacting with one another, weather, geological features, and plant and animal life are fascinating and powerful aspects of a place’s special character and spirit.  This body of art work intends to give a voice to surrounding environments and engage listeners in appreciation of “place,” as well as promoting realization of the inherent, mutually formative relationship between humans and nature.  Acknowledging and maintaining the connection of people and “place” forges respect for one another as well as our shared Earth and future.
